Folio is a paper planner paired with an iOS app. We try to collect as little as possible and to be plain about what happens to it. This policy covers thefolioplanner.com and the Folio app.
What we collect
Account details you give us: your name and email when you join the beta list or create an account, and billing details when you purchase (payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers).
Your planner content: the events, tasks, trackers, and journal reflections recognized from pages you choose to scan.
Your handwriting and page photos
When you scan a page, the photo is processed to extract its text and is then discarded. Page photos are not stored after processing and are never used to train any AI model.
Handwriting recognition and the Month- and Volume-in-review summaries are generated using a third-party AI provider (Anthropic’s Claude). Only the content needed to produce your result is sent for processing.
Calendar and reminders access
If you connect Apple Calendar or Reminders, Folio uses that access only to add events and tasks you approve. It does not read or upload your existing calendar history.
How your content is stored
Your recognized notes and journal are stored in your account and encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not sell your personal data.
Your choices
You can export or delete your content, and close your account, from the app or by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your stored planner content.
